Queen Charlotte Fan Theory That Will Make You Bawl Your Eyes Out
Even the worst ever illness can never beat true love.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story became an instant success the day it was released.
Perceived as a simple spin-off to Bridgerton, created to expand the universe and explain the significance of some of the characters and events, it was quickly recognized as a very fine story in its own right.
A truly heartbreaking love story between Queen Charlotte herself and her husband, King George, it was praised by both the older fans of the original series and some newer fans who were excited to see a period drama.
Of course, the new series not only expanded fans' understanding of the Bridgerton world but also provided a whole new set of possibilities for more fan theories.
The most heartbreaking one, of course, revolves around the main couple itself.
Unfortunately, the marriage between Charlotte and George was never a happy one, but not for lack of real feelings.
Thanks to George's illness, it became increasingly difficult for him to remain mentally stable, to the point where he stopped recognizing his wife.
This is where the fans come in with their reflections. It's easy to see how the Queen is still stuck in her past, wearing the same extra wigs and over-the-top dresses that don't match current fashion.
Although this may be a personal preference or a decision made because of her royal status, viewers like to believe that her fashion is also connected to George.
It must be much harder to recognize someone who is constantly changing his style. Besides, at his age, George already has an image of his wife imprinted on his brain.
Maybe it's easier for him to recognize her in more old-fashioned dresses and wigs than in simpler, more modern ones. So the queen just gives in to this habit, so as not to cause any more confusion.
If you're already missing the romance of the Bridgerton universe, don't worry, Bridgerton Season 3 is coming your way very soon. Stay tuned for news and updates, including the season's release date.
