Pedro Pascal Owes His Entire Career to One Project
He is still grateful to the creators of the legendary fantasy series for taking the risk of inviting an actor with only minor TV roles on his resume.
Summary:
- Over the years, Pedro Pascal has gone from an obscure actor to one of Hollywood's biggest stars
- He has delivered some incredible performances and continues his winning streak to this day
- However, according to the actor himself, none of this would have been possible if he hadn't starred in Game of Thrones
Pedro Pascal has come a long way since he began his acting career back in the 1990s, from playing supporting roles in movies and TV shows, including some well known ones like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Law & Order, to becoming a wildly popular Hollywood star.
Over the past few years, Pascal has been on a roll, starring in one acclaimed project after another, earning the love of countless fans and elevating his career to new heights.
Pascal Has Delivered a Number of Incredible Performances
In Narcos, one of the best docudrama TV series to date, which ran from 2015 to 2017, he portrayed Javier Peña, a real-life DEA agent who was part of the group that took down notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar.
Pascal then joined the Star Wars franchise and pioneered its television branch by starring in the franchise's first live-action show, The Mandalorian, which became a huge success after its debut in 2019 and is still going strong today.
The actor also appeared in one of the best video game adaptations of all time, The Last of Us TV series, which was exceptionally well received by critics and fans alike and will soon be getting a second season, which is currently in production.
None of This Would Have Happened Without Game of Thrones
However, in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Pascal revealed that he owes all of his success to a single role that ended up drastically changing his entire life, as without Game of Thrones, none of his aforementioned achievements would have happened.
He is still grateful for the opportunity given to him by the show's creators, who decided to take a risk and cast Pascal, who at the time had only theater and episodic TV credits on his resume, as Oberyn Martell.
Fans point out that it is no surprise that the role of Oberyn immediately boosted his career, as the actor absolutely owned the attitude and personality of the character and delivered a truly stunning performance.
Soon, Pascal will become part of another massive franchise, as it was recently officially confirmed that he will portray Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four, an upcoming new installment in the MCU that will premiere on July 25, 2025.
