The show follows a group of friends, known as The Gang, who own a bar in Philadelphia and often get into ridiculous and offensive situations.

The series has become a living classic, although some fans have noticed a decline in the quality of the episodes after more than 10 years on television.

According to Reddit, the decline began with season 11, which premiered in January 2016. And while it had some standout episodes, such as Mac and Dennis Move to the Suburbs it also had some lackluster ones.

The writing seemed to rely more on shock value and offensive humor, rather than the clever and absurd humor the show was known for.

Redditor RickarySanchez feels the series started to go south between seasons 11-13, though the fan realizes — not many people would share a similar opinion.

Sure, the viewer notes there were some unique episodes during those years, but that's when it felt like the show was slipping at certain points.

The Redditor suggests the characters have become caricatures of themselves in recent seasons, with their personalities and behaviors becoming more extreme and exaggerated.

Dennis has turned "extremely clingy," while Mac is "too gay." What the fan does not like is that the protagonists are pushed to their limits without any systematic development.

The Redditor points to The Always Sunny Podcast, where the show's creators have stated that a group of new writers are working on the series. The fan says that these newcomers are the reason for the show's decline.

For example, in season 15, when the Gang travels to Ireland, the scenes don't seem as comedic and charming anymore. The fan was disappointed with the journey.

The Redditor, who described themselves as Irish, said the stereotypes chosen by the writers just seem terrible.

Although the viewer fully understands the reason for the flop. When a show becomes iconic and runs for so many seasons, it's no surprise the quality drops off, especially for comedies.

Some fans have taken the Redditor's words in stride, some have agreed, saying two major writers left the show after season 11, and some, while agreeing, say that they enjoyed many of the episodes of the following seasons.
