These shows are not necessarily liked by critics, but they are appreciated by ordinary viewers.

What Netflix can really boast of is its variety of crime series. However, no matter how fascinating and horrifying these stories are, they do not always manage to win the hearts of the viewers.

But some of them do! Here are six great crime shows on Netflix that audiences have given a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

6. Jailbirds New Orleans

Release Date: January 12, 2021

It's arguably the most unconventional show in the crime drama genre. In 2019, Jailbirds, a reality show about the difficult experiences of incarcerated women at the Sacramento County Jail in California, struck a chord with many for its candor and exploration of the socioeconomic reasons that put people behind bars. And then came the season about the women at the Orleans Justice Center: just three episodes in, however, filming was halted due to ongoing cases.

5. Scoop

Based on true events, this Hindi-language crime drama does not shy away from exposing corruption in law enforcement as well as a public obsessed with bread, spectacle and hype. The series is based on the memoirs of crime reporter Jigna Vora, who was falsely accused of murdering journalist Jyotirmoy Dey in Mumbai in 2011 because the media and police thought she did it to eliminate a competitor.

The Punjabi television industry is not lagging behind Bollywood, and in December 2022, Netflix Originals added the first Punjabi-language series to its list, which turned out to be a crime thriller starring Randeep Hooda. The series is set in the first half of the 1990s, during the bloody uprising in Punjab by the militant Sikh movement known as the Khalistan Movement against the Indian government. The protagonist played by Hooda, also a Sikh, is an informant for the local police, but the cop he works for may be involved in the murder of his parents.

3. The Nurse

Release Date: April 27, 2023

Number of Seasons: 1

This Danish series is quite similar to The Good Nurse but offers an even more chilling story. Based on the book by Kristian Corfixen, which in turn follows the real events: in 2016, nurse Christina Aistrup Hansen was charged with the killing of four patients and attempting to kill five others. The story is told from the perspective of her younger colleague, Pernille, who began to notice patterns in the mysterious deaths of seemingly healthy patients.

2. Trial by Fire

Release Date: January 13, 2023

Number of Seasons: 1

This Hindi-language crime drama is a rare example where the critics and audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes are exactly the same, and in both cases it's a perfect 100%. Trial by Fire centers on a grieving couple, Neelam (Rajshri Deshpande) and Shekhar (Abhay Deol), who lost their children in a terrible fire 20 years ago. But they have no intention of leaving the case unsolved as they try to get to the bottom of it. Viewers have praised both the acting and the superbly crafted screenplay, which combines elements of courtroom thriller and heartbreaking drama.

Release Date: January 19, 2024

Number of Seasons: 1

Finally, our list is rounded out by a new release from Train of Busan director Yeon Sang-ho. The Bequeathed is a thriller that can be described as both an occult horror and a police procedural. The plot follows Yun Seo-ha (Kim Hyun-joo), a young woman who suddenly learns of the death of her uncle and inherits a gravesite. Then her half-brother Kim Yeong-ho (Ryu Kyung-soo) suddenly shows up, demanding his share of the family property. But the strangeness doesn't end there, as a series of gruesome murders occur in the village near the house.
