Nowadays it is pretty common to see actors and actresses play a variety of different roles and appear in different movies and series, and the characters in Young Sheldon are no exception.

The CBS sitcom features experienced cast members that have previously made short appearances in humorous shows and movies including, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Ghostbusters, and Two and a Half Men.

One of the actors played a more significant role in a series before joining the cast of Young Sheldon, but this show was very different from the light-hearted coming-of-age story of Sheldon Cooper.

Better Call Saul is a legal drama and a spinoff and prequel of the show Breaking Bad, following a con artist as he works and manipulates his way into becoming criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. One of the biggest themes of the show is, well, crime, and there are occasionally graphic scenes of violence and torture.

The Young Sheldon actor played a patient, morally just lawyer in Better Call Saul, and his role was described by fans as small but impactful, with his kind but fair nature balancing out a lot of the evil and darkness in the show.

The actor in question is none other than Ed Begley Jr. He played lawyer Clifford Main in Better Call Saul and now stars in Young Sheldon as Dr Grant Linkletter, a physics professor whom Sheldon tries very hard to befriend.

Although he is not the most loved character on the show and fans found him a bit of a jerk, they have softened to him as he has become a mentor of sorts to Sheldon.

Ironically, his character on Young Sheldon was disliked by so many fans, while the character he played on Better Call Saul was one of the few that fans really liked.

Ed Begley Jr himself is a well-loved personality, but with the vast amount of roles he has played in his life, he's bound to have played a few disliked characters.

He can be recognized for his many appearances including his more recent roles in Pineapple Express, A Mighty Wand, and Whatever Works; the list of his roles seems to go on and on.

If Young Sheldon fans had not recognized him from Better Call Saul, they certainly would have seen him in something else or recognized him for his work as an environmental activist and producer.
