There's a very fine line between much-needed drama and ruining the show.

Even though Bridgerton fans are pretty much used to the slow-burning relationship storylines that fill the entire season, they are still very picky about what kind of drama they want to see and don't want to see in the upcoming seasons.

The story of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, as dramatic as it is in the canon, can use some more, the viewers believe.

And they know exactly how to add it without ruining the chemistry between the main characters.

As much as viewers have grown accustomed to the show's love triangles, it's not exactly the route they'd like the writers to take with #Polin.

Even though Colin has had a few love interests in his past, no one really wants to see him pursue someone else when he's supposed to be developing feelings for Penelope.

However, when the big moment of the proposal comes, it would be very nice to see Penelope take back control, restore her dignity and... say "no."

It may seem a bit radical, but fans are ready to riot for the show to give Penelope some justice. Rejecting Colin's proposal, in case the show goes the exact same route as the books, would be a perfect way to do that while adding some drama.

Colin would have to prove his feelings more, and Penelope would be assured that she is marrying someone who truly loves her.

Whether this will happen or not, we will have to wait and see. However, the idea is quite popular in the fandom, so these changes would be met with approval.

From what the audience has seen in previous seasons, the writers of the show are not afraid to change the canon if necessary, so anything is possible.

Although everyone is pretty sure that Season 3 will be released, there is no official information about the premiere date yet.

Stay tuned to not miss any announcements and stream Bridgerton Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix.
