How Tom Cruise deals with those who cross the line.

The renowned Hollywood star, Tom Cruise, isn’t really known for being scandalous or aggressive. However, one reporter managed to slightly piss off the Mission Impossible star.

This incident took place during an interview with Peter Overton, a reporter from 60 Minutes Australia, back in 2005. The interview started off like any other, with Peter asking Tom about his life and career.

However, things took an unexpected turn when Peter asked Tom a personal question about his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman. Peter asked, "Was Nicole the love of your life?" This question seemed to strike a nerve with Tom, who responded, "What do you mean, Peter?"

Tom and Nicole were married for a decade and had raised children together. Tom expressed his difficulty in answering such a question, stating that Nicole was someone he loved very much.

The interviewer continued to ask if Tom would like Nicole to remarry. Tom responded by saying that he wanted Nicole to be happy. However, when Peter asked about their current relationship, Tom felt that the line was being crossed.

Tom politely confronted Peter, stating, "Here's the thing, Peter. You're stepping over a line now. You know you are."

He asked Peter to take responsibility for his curiosity, rather than saying that it is people who want to know this. Tom then asked Peter to put his manners back in, expressing that he felt Peter's questions were inappropriate.

When Peter asked if he was out of line, Tom confirmed that he indeed was, and Peter apologized sincerely.

There was another interesting incident involving Tom Cruise that's worth mentioning. This one is just another evidence of Cruise's ability to handle unexpected situations with grace.

In this case, Tom was the target of a prank during a red carpet event. A prankster, posing as a reporter, approached Tom for an interview.

However, instead of a microphone, the prankster had a water-squirting device disguised as a mic. As Tom was answering questions, the prankster squirted water in his face.

Tom, although taken aback, handled the situation calmly. He held onto the prankster's hand, preventing him from running away, and asked him why he would do something like that. Cruise basically schooled him like a parent.
