One Thing To Know About Good Omens S2 For Sure: Terry Pratchett Would Be Proud
The viewers are up for an ineffable joy.
It's safe to say that Neil Gaiman made sure that Good Omens ' comeback was as unexpected and surprising as possible. Though many fans had been clamoring for a second season during the years of the hiatus, the more years that passed, the less hope there was. In the end, this is one of those rare occasions when everyone is happy to be completely wrong.
One problem with Good Omens season 2, which Neil Gaiman had to personally fix by writing an entirely new story for the screenplay, is that the iconic story was fully adapted for season 1.
No matter how much the cast and crew enjoyed the production, and no matter how much the fans loved the end result, there was no more story to tell about Crowley and Aziraphael. Not until Neil Gaiman decided to take it upon himself to continue developing the Good Omens universe without co-author Terry Pratchett at his side.
Even if no one thinks to doubt Gaiman's creativity, talent, and dedication to these characters, the series' executive producer, Rob Wilkins, is ready to reassure those who are skeptical. He shared his thoughts on Terry Pratchett's possible reaction in a behind-the-scenes featurette released at Comic-Con:
“Of course, we all know that Terry and Neil had conversations about what the sequel would be, and Neil has taken that and he’s blown it up in a way that viewers are just going to love. So what would Terry think? Terry would pat Neil on the back, and he would push Good Omens forward. He would break a bottle of champagne over his bows and be absolutely delighted”.
The cast and crew were just as delighted when they were told that season 2 of the show was in the works.
Not only will David Tennant and Michael Sheen be reprising their roles as the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphael, but several other actors from season one will be making their comebacks in the most unexpected ways.
If you don't want to miss the ongoing celebration of Good Omens with the second season of the series, be sure to tune in to Amazon Prime Video on July 28.
