It's always great to have a true fan as a showrunner of an adaptation!

Netflix 's One Piece is a wonder in many senses of the word — first of all, it was a huge success on its own, and secondly, it managed to conquer the hearts of the original anime and manga fans, proving that Netflix still got it when it comes to anime adaptations.

One thing that ensures One Piece's charm is the amount of Easter eggs that are hidden in the live-action for true fans to appreciate. The Netflix team made sure the adaptation is faithful to the source material by consulting with the series creator, Eiichiro Oda, but planting Easter eggs was a job of its own.

One Piece showrunner Matt Owens, who has always been a huge fan of the source material, has revealed in a Reddit AMA that he made sure they would plant as many Easter eggs in the first season as possible.

Besides, he shared his favorite one.

"My favorite is probably the bounty posters that fill the world. I looked back at pirates who we know were operating at this time in the story and what their bounties would be. It helps sell other pirates to newcomers and are fun details for fans who know who they are," Owens said.

Moreover, he even teased that some of the bounty posters that were shot for season 1 didn't make it into the final cut — but we should be on the lookout for more in the next chapter!

It's safe to say that bounty posters are one of the most endearing details in the One Piece adaptation. As the season continues, we get introduced to the most important pirate characters via posters appearing on screen — and the pirates even interact with them in their own way, either by slicing them into pieces with their weapons or simply pushing them away like Buggy did.

Badass introduction is important to every pirate — which is probably why Monkey D. Luffy, the series' main character, was so eager to get his own bounty poster. And he finished the first season with the goal completed!

Now, as One Piece heads into its second chapter, all we can do is wait for even more Easter eggs and fun winks to look for. The premiere date is yet to be scheduled.
