Successful manga and anime series, with Netflix live-action show on its way – it's all about One Piece, a global megahit which is now up to conquer the ice. Literally.

The manga series created by Eiichirō Oda is about to get an ice-cold treatment.

And this is no metaphor: as announced on the official Instagram account of One Piece on March 6th, 2023, this Summer will bring upon the fans an ice rink show: One Piece On Ice.

As told in the tweet, One Piece On Ice will premiere some time during Summer 2023. As of right now it is unclear, whether the show will be exclusive to Japan.

This is not the first time a successful anime series is linked to an ice show. Previously Prism On Ice, a Sailor Moon-themed ice show, was slated to happen in June 2023.

However, after being delayed three times over the past years, the show which would have starred Evgenia Medvedeva as the titular heroine, was eventually cancelled.

Now it's time for One Piece's Straw Hats to set sails across the ice rink.

Which plot idea the ice show will be based on has not yet been revealed. But fans already have their theories at the ready, however witty and bizarre they could be.

"The show should just be an hour and a half of Aokiji biking from one island to the next," Redditor Crabrave12345678 suggests.

Fans are not shy on personal wishes for the show either.

"A bunch of Bon Clays wearing Alabasta outfit spinning around a sleeping Aokiji would make for top tier entertainment for me," Redditor Haiel10000 says.

But what will the performances on the ice rink look like? This is also something that left fans brainstorming.

"So like, are they just going to launch a bunch of zamboni's that look like ships?" Redditor AlternativeNo61 asks.

This year will also see One Piece premiering as a live-action series on Netflix. Fans will have to wait and see what their favorite and often over-the-top characters from will look like in live-action form.

No release date for the Netflix show is known at the time either.
