Jason's return from the dead is expected to affect a lot of people's lives in Port Charles, considering that his character has developed multiple storylines since the 1980s, involving a whole host of characters.

With such an unexpected comeback, it's not surprising that social media is abuzz with all kinds of theories as to why Jason will be back this time. While some of them make a little more sense than others, Steve Burton, who has already immersed himself in the Stan discussions, dismissed the most popular ones.

Whether Jason will turn out to be Sonny's mysterious shooter, sweep Carly off her feet and start a major feud, or make a complete turnaround and bring some very useful information, we'll have to wait and see. What viewers will want to see, however, no matter how his story turns out, is the return of a true friendship.

While the mere fact of Jason coming back from the dead is controversial, there is one thing General Hospital did get right.
