One Huge Problem Doctor Who Fans Have With David Tennant's Comeback
Everyone's excited to see the 10th Doctor back, but maybe not with this look.
After the most amazing celebration of Doctor Who 's 50th anniversary, the anticipation for the 60th anniversary was even greater.
Fans have been expecting to see their favorite Doctors in the celebratory episodes with little cameos, but no one really thought of David Tennant's comeback as a gift they could receive.
Fans of the 10th Doctor received the news of David Tennant's return to the role of the Doctor in his 14th incarnation exceptionally well.
Even though his time on the screen won't be long before the role passes to the 15th Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, it promises to be an extraordinary journey.
The only thing that worries fans is... the new look of the Doctor.
Although the 10th Doctor was always so skinny that he was the butt of many jokes, in the new pictures he looks even thinner than before.
Many also feel that the look of the 14th Doctor should be as similar as possible to that of the 10th, even if they make him younger.
Since that won't happen in the series, Reddit fans have taken it upon themselves to imagine what the de-aged 14th Doctor would look like in the new environment.
"Great job! But it looks so wrong... Something I really like about the new look is how gruff it looks. Despite pretty much being the same (type) of outfit he wore as 10, he looks completely different," Redditor EDAboii said, pointing out why it's better for David Tennant to own his older looks in order to distinguish two Doctor's incarnations.
It's safe to say that not everyone was thrilled. Some fans even went so far as to say that images of the aged 14th Doctor had too much of an uncanny valley vibe.
Either way, these creations just show how far technology has come and how believable it can be.
It's only a matter of time before they're used not only for images, but also for video footage.
Three Doctor Who episodes starring David Tennant as the 14th Doctor will be released in November 2023, so keep an eye out for more exciting news and behind-the-scenes updates.
