The HBO hit nailed it when it came to visuals and costumes... well, most of the time.

There is one costume in Game of Thrones that still haunts fans in fashion nightmares up to this day, and yes, it is that very outfit worn by Margaery Tyrell you might already be thinking about.

This atrocity of a costume makes Natalie Dormer's character look more like an ice cream cone, according to fans who are still wondering how showrunners even approved the costume. Because seriously, what is happening here?

Tyrell rocked the outfit (or it was the outfit that rocked her...) in season 6, but many people are still traumatized by it. However, there is an explanation that the costume designer deliberately turned the dress into a fashion crime to illustrate how Marg was searching for her own style while also being quite an overachiever.

Game of Thrones Made Infamous Coffee Cup Mistake Not Once But Twice

The outfit wronged Marg in many ways. First of all, the colors are wrong: while the Tyrell colors are green and gold, and the Baratheon colors are black and gold, her dress is for some reason blue and brown. The silhouette does nothing for Marg as well; beauty and taste standards aside, imagine if it rains and you're wearing something like that.

Some fans, however, are trying to remain optimistic about that.

"Historical dresses and fashions often ranged from beautiful to downright bizarre. Some things thought glamorous we call silly. I doubt that was the intention here but none the less I think it's a great parallel to historical fashion," Twitter user ChrisX138 noted.

Well, there were two things that did Margaery Tyrell dirty in Game of Thrones: this dress, and her marriage to Joffrey Baratheon. Nothing could possibly beat that — unless House of the Dragon 's upcoming season 2 is planning to commit some more fashion crimes.
