One GoT Character Instead of Otto Hightower Would Have Singlehandedly Resolved HotD's War
House of the Dragon's Otto Hightower is a newbie compared to Game of Thrones' best player.
House of the Dragon is undoubtedly an example of an amazing prequel for a no less amazing parent show, but Westeros fans believe that the spinoff's entire conflict would be resolved in a heartbeat if just one Game of Thrones character was there.
According to Reddit, Otto Hightower and his games hold no water, and he's not somebody who can bring Team Green to victory. But you know who can? Petyr Baelish a.k.a. Littlefinger.
Seriously, with a player like that on their side, Team Green would leave no chances to their Black rivals, the fandom believes.
"Littlefinger in Otto’s place is ending the dance before it even begins. Rhaenyra’s dead, Daemon is a branded criminal and Viserys has abdicated. Littlefinger rules in Aegon’s stead as Lord Protector of the Realm. There is peace," Redditor SternritterVGT believes.
For those concerned that Aegon II is, in fact, an adult, please keep in mind that so was Robert Baratheon. With Aegon II clearly not wanting to rule, he could easily trust the reign to his Small Council.
Game of Thrones fans point out that the only thing that eventually brought Littlefinger down was basically a superpower, and not someone managing to outsmart him.
While Petyr basically took down the best players, all Otto did was conceive a plan to put his grandson in power — and the grandson in question is conveniently a king's firstborn son. How very intellectual...
Another thing would be to make sure that Baelish sided with Team Green. But still, it is all just a fantasy: after all, House of the Dragon is set centuries before the events of Game of Thrones, so Otto Hightower will clearly have to try and do his best without the help of the parent show's most capable player.
House of the Dragon season 2 is currently filming, with the premiere date to be scheduled later.
