People love Friends for many reasons. It is a very comforting show when there are no villains, no really annoying characters and next to no dramatic storylines. It’s literally just a show about the everyday routine of six pretty relatable people.

We have Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, and Joey at the center of the story and their many occasional friends and partners that change constantly over the course of the show.

While several storylines were established right in the beginning of the show, like Ross and Rachel being a couple and ending up together no matter what, there were many other important stories that developed naturally and really shocked the fans.

One of such stories includes, for example, Rachel’s unexpected pregnancy, which she tried to keep in secret at first. We are sure that every viewer’s face was the same at the time the episode aired for the first time and we discovered the shocking fact.

But another storyline that also came out of nowhere was the romance that blossomed between Monica and Chandler.

We got used to Monica being in a relationship with Richard, a mature man 20 years older than her, so seeing her with goofy best friend type guy Chandler was an unexpected twist.

There were several attempts to break them up during the show, but the couple proved to be perfect for each other and overcame every obstacle. However, what they didn't know at the time was that they were about to face something that would really challenge their peace.

How Monica and Chandler Became a Real Family

After several attempts to have a baby, they have realized that their only way is to go through adoption. So they went through all the procedures and found a pregnant girl named Erica who was ready to give them her child. And that was the moment when everything happened.

In the very first episode when they met, Erica gave Monica and Chandler the sonogram of the baby. Long story short, the time to bring the baby to the world had come, and while being in the room already pushing, Erica just discovered that she is going to deliver two babies.

Everybody in the room, except for the doctor, were in shock, but the fans of the show think that it’s actually ridiculous that they were surprised for several reasons. For starters, the sonogram was already there from the beginning, so it’s strange how Monica didn’t see it.

We come to realize that Erica wasn't the brightest person when she said she didn't know the two heartbeats meant she was having two babies: instead, she thought one heartbeat was hers... But Monica?!

However, there are still some fans who try to defend Minica's honor.

“Who's to say that Monica would be able to read the sonogram if she did see it? If you don't have experience looking at them and an OBGYN doesn't sit down with you and literally point out all the body parts, most people are going to have no idea what they're looking at -- especially if its two kids,” Redditor judo_fish said.

The good thing is that the mistake didn't cause the couple to give the babies away. Instead, they embraced them with a "the more the merrier" attitude.
