One Forgotten Marvel Villain Fans Are Dying to See Again (But It's Unlikely to Happen)
Why was Kilgrave such a great villain?
We bet you have noticed one big problem (well, one of the problems) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — almost every MCU project of recent years failed to introduce an interesting villain who is intimidating and mesmerizing at the same time.
It’s no wonder fans still remember the villains from the previous movies/TV shows. One villain who, despite his dark and twisted nature, has left an especially lasting impression on fans. We're talking about Kilgrave, the mind-controlling menace from the Jessica Jones series.
Before we get into why fans are clamoring for his return, let's do a quick recap for those who might not be familiar with this character. Kilgrave, also known as Kevin Thompson, is a villain who can control people's minds just by speaking to them.
This power, as you can imagine, leads to some pretty horrifying situations. He's not a typical villain who wants to rule the world or gain immense wealth. No, Kilgrave is all about control and manipulation, making him one of the most chilling characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Why are fans so eager to see Kilgrave return? Well, it's not because they love his villainous ways (although his character is undeniably fascinating).
It's hard to say for sure but David Tennant, who brought the character to life, certainly contributed to it. His performance made Kilgrave a character you love to hate and hate to love. He was terrifying, yet charismatic, and his twisted sense of humor added a unique flavor to the show.
In a recent Reddit discussion, fans expressed their desire to see Kilgrave return to the screen. One user wrote, "Kilgrave was such a unique villain. His powers were terrifying, but it was his personality that really made him stand out. I'd love to see him come back in some way."
Many others echoed this sentiment, praising Tennant's performance and the character's depth.
However, as much as we'd love to see Kilgrave return, it seems very unlikely. His character met a definitive end in Jessica Jones, and bringing him back could risk undermining the impact of his storyline.
Plus, Jessica Jones isn’t coming back soon, according to Krysten Ritter, who portrayed Jessica Jones.
