Now That Jackman's Back as Wolverine, Is Patrick Stewart's Deadpool 3 Cameo on the Cards Too?
With all these comebacks going on, it almost looks like a pattern.
It's official: Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, and this return falls in line with several other comebacks by Marvel icons.
Recently, Marvel Studio has been all about fan service and giving the people what they want. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, we received an almost impossible team-up of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland.
Then, Patrick Stewart returned as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, albeit for a brief appearance that was doomed to be cut short by Wanda Maximoff gone vicious.
However, with the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, fans suspect that Patrick Stewart's appearance in the MCU might not be that brief anymore. With Logan in Deadpool 3, pretty much everything feels possible to fans; even though some are clearly in the mood for jokes.
"Hopefully Patrick Stewart makes a cameo where he has to read Deadpool's mind and is so traumatized from it he thinks he's Jean Luc Piccard," Reddit user CemetaryWind suggested.
The way both actors returned to their iconic characters also seems to amuse some fans.
"It's funny how Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman both said Logan would be the final time they'd play their characters, and then 5 years later Stewart showed up in a yellow hoverchair and Hugh will 99% be wearing the costume. Money really does talk." – @TheBatstan
Some people even suggested that it was Stewart's appearance in Multiverse of Madness that might have inspired Jackman to unleash those claws once again.
The first time when Jackman faced off with Ryan Reynolds ' Wade Wilson was in X-Men Origins in 2009, although Reynolds technically portrayed an entirely different character back then.
Deadpool 3 is set to premiere on September 6, 2024.
