Not Only Eddie: Dead Stranger Things Characters We Don't Need in Season 5
Let bygones be bygones.
When we watch a TV show, we become attached to the characters we see on screen. We start caring about them like if they were real, we give them advice sitting on our couches and we root for them, too. It’s only natural if you have even a little note of compassion in you.
However, sometimes our beloved characters die on screen, and of course that makes us feel sad. And while some TV shows have no way of bringing back fallen characters, some, like soap operas or fantasy dramas, have a reputation for being able to do so.
With the news that Stranger Things season 5 already started production, fans are even more passionate about sharing their views on what the upcoming season would bring to them. There were a lot of talks about the desire to bring back, for example, Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn.
But most fans claimed that it would cheapen the sacrifices he made and serve for worse. However, there are other characters that fans never want to see back in the show's universe, even though they love them deeply.
Jason Carver
Although the character only appeared in season 4, fans still got used to the charismatic villain. However, there's no need to return him, at least because his antagonistic arc has been successfully completed and doesn't need to be revisited. The cruel and deeply unlikable character should stay where he is (wherever the dead go in the show's universe).
Bob Newby
A completely different story unfolds when we talk about Bob Newby. He was an important character in season 2, where he portrayed a loving and caring boyfriend of Joyce Byers. Unfortunately, he was killed by the mysterious paranormal creatures. He left as a hero, sacrificing himself to save the woman he loved, and the children escaped safe and sound.
While it would be good to have a great person back, it feels like it would be bad timing to bring him into the show now. Especially for Joyce.
Dr. Martin Brenner
Another character who does not deserve a comeback, although he was once a central character in the universe of the show. Brenner has been the main antagonist of the show since season 1.
A cruel scientist who conducted controversial experiments at Hawkins National Laboratory, he was also the head of Project MKUltra and established himself as something of a father figure to the children by messing with their heads.
He made a miraculous return in Season 4 after being killed once before. So while we would love to see him die again, it seems that twice is enough and a monster should stay buried.
