Nicholas Galitzine Got the Funniest Gift From Anne Hathaway After The Idea of You’s Awkward Scenes

Having recently starred in Starz’s unhinged historical drama show Mary & George alongside Julianne Moore, Galitzine never moved back to the shadows jumping straight to his other big release this year, Michael Showalter’s romcom The Idea of You with Anne Hathaway in the leading role.

While still promoting Prime Video ’s new hit, the actor revealed he’d received a very peculiar gift from Hathaway after they struggled filming some specific scenes.

In his recent interview to British GQ, Galitzine said both he and Anne Hathaway had some trouble while filming their kissing scenes. According to the actor, they were so tense that their “intimacy coordinator would come in and give us a Listerine strip” so that both actors would feel more confident fresh mint breath.

Galitzine continued clarifying that they both had used those strips so much that Anne Hathaway had come up with an idea to give her co-star a painting of Listerine strips as some kind of fun present. The actor presumably enjoyed the present as he revealed the painting now is a part of decoration for Galitzine’s apartment.

Previously, Anne Hathaway admitted she’d felt sick as the movie’s crew was about to wrap the production up with filming the final scene and at some point the actress wasn’t sure whether she was able to finish the workday.

Hathaway then praised Nicholas Galitzine who eventually carried out the whole scene making the actress feel energetic enough to finish the movie.

Based on Robinne Lee’s novel of the same name, The Idea of You follows art gallery owner and single mother Solène whose life finds a sudden spark when she meets young boy band singer Hayes.

Though both are aware of the impossibility to keep developing their relationships, the characters still feel like they could bring something new and exciting into each other’s life.

The Idea of You was released on May 2 and now can be streamed on Prime Video.
