If you expected a season 2 update finally, you'll have to wait.

Squid Game was an undisputable hit worldwide. The South Korean series that threw its characters into a deadly reality game for money had everyone across the world hooked. So it's not particularly surprising that season 2 was greenlit almost immediately; but some side projects also arrived.

Well, it turns out that the said side projects are getting ahead of the actual sequel everyone is expecting.

Meet Squid Game: The Challenge, an actual reality show that will have 456 real people competing for 4.56 million dollars. The project is based entirely on Squid Game, save the gruesome deaths. No one will die in the upcoming reality (thank God), but the rest of it looks just like actual Squid Game brought to life.

But who exactly asked for it? Because according to fans, no one is particularly excited about the upcoming reality; what people really want is the actual second chapter of the gut-wrenching story.

In the comment section for the reality trailer, many fans feel deceived: they got all hyped up for The Challenge, thinking it was the second season, only to get their hopes crushed.

Some people don't understand why would Netflix even spend money on a Squid Game-based reality show when they could just focus on making the second season instead. One user in the comments jokingly suggested that the twist of the reality show would be that it would actually be the filming of season 2, and not a show based on season 1.

Still, if you're curious to check out the real-life Squid Game minus the deaths, tune in on Netflix on November 22. After all, this is going to be a battle for the biggest cash prize in the reality show history!
