The fan-favorite team is back again and now in full force.
Summary:
- Now You See Me was first released back in 2013 and, after becoming an overall success, received a sequel in 2016 — now that the third movie was confirmed, the fan-favorite character removed from the second film is definitely coming back.
- The character’s absence in the second installment is much more easily explained than many fans would've thought.
- Now that the third movie is on its way, the creators may come up with a clear explanation of the character’s return to the story.
Almost ten years since the latest movie’s release, Now You See Me is getting yet another sequel — and now the full cast is in its place. While the second film released back in 2016 didn't feature an essential character, the third installment is bringing her back to the main stage.
Louis Leterrier’s original heist film that hit the cinemas in 2013 follows a team of magicians who, after they turn their tricky performances into bank heists, have to hide away from an FBI agent and an Interpol detective.
Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo and many others, Now You See Me garnered an overall success despite a low score of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie eventually grossed more than $350 million with the initial budget of $70 million and received a relatively warm welcome from the critics combined with the audience’s delight.
What Will Now You See Me 3 Be About?
Now that the film is getting one more sequel, the casting news may come as something that fans have been waiting for all this time — Now You See Me 3 will bring Isla Fisher’s Henley back after the character was replaced by Lizzy Caplan’s Lula in the second installment.
So far it’s not clear whether Caplan will make her way back in the upcoming film or not.
Why Wasn’t Isla Fisher In Now You See Me 2?
The reasons for Isla Fisher’s absence in the second movie are actually much simpler than everybody would think. While there were talks about disappointment by Fisher’s character, there was nothing like this in reality.
At the time of Now You See Me 2’s production Isla Fisher was pregnant, so she eventually opted for dropping out entirely, letting the crew find a replacement for her character instead of giving Henley a different actress that would portray her. Now it seems like nothing impedes Fisher to make her come-back to the famous story.
So far there’s almost nothing confirmed about either the cast or the plot of the upcoming sequel, but fans can stay reassured that making a clear explanation of Henley’s absence and then returning may become the creators’ priority for now.
