New 'Thor 4' Image Introduces This Important Character, But Not All Fans Notice It
Taika Waititi's 'Thor: Love and Thunder' is exciting for many reasons, and Natalie Portman's Mighty Thor tops that list. But it seems that the actress' impressive physical transformation for this role has distracted fans from another major character featured in the recently revealed image.
In the new 'Love and Thunder' still, Marvel aficionados were presented with a joint image of two beloved characters – Portman's Might Thor and Tessa Thompson's King Valkyrie. Both are seated on regal thrones and dressed in elaborate battle costumes. The image just oozes royal pathos, and fans are totally loving it. However, not many of them seem to have noticed the presence of a third person in the picture.
Positioned just below the two heroines, the third one is barely noticeable, only her head in royal Egyptian attire attracts attention. Yet the third character is not a superheroine, but the ancient Egyptian goddess Bastet, played by Akosia Sabet. The deity, who has the ability to transform into a giant panther, will definitely be present in the upcoming Chris Hemsworth film, perhaps even battling Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale ).
Bastet is best known as the goddess behind Black Panther of Wakanda, given both characters' penchant for these dangerous jungle cats. Perhaps Sabet will join the rest of the Black Panther cast in the second installment of the saga this November.
'Thor: Love and Thunder ' hits theatres on July 8, 2022.
