It's time for the Joker to move on to another foe.

The new heads of DC Studios, director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran, shared plans for the future of the DCU. The first chapter of the franchise will be called Gods and Monsters and will start in 2025.

Among the announced projects was Power – a movie about superheroes with uncharacteristically brutal methods of retaliation against criminals.

Power will tell the story of The Authority, formed from the remnants of StormWatch, whose members care little for politics and the law, and instead do their best to get the job done.

Though their sincere desire is to restore order and help humanity, they do not care who might get hurt along the way.

One of Powers members is Midnighter, who may look like a copy of Batman, but is actually an improved and more violent version of him. And a deadlier foe for the Joker. Midnighter uses his passion for violence to fight evil.

After being cybernetically enhanced by unknown beings, he embarked on a career as an avenger before being recruited by the StormGuard, a team that protects Earth from alien threats.

Midnighter is able to predict any fight before it begins. This allows him to instantly replay any combat situation a million times in his mind, taking into account every development of the action, even before he strikes.

He is also able to instantly rewind any moment of the fight in his mind in order to achieve victory.

Moreover, one of his abilities is to instantly recognize the state of the enemy, his weaknesses, or notice a change in brain activity.

At the same time, his brain is a super-computer, his memory and intelligence increase exponentially, and his tactical and strategic skills surpass those of any other superhero.

However, all these advantages did not help Midnighter much in his confrontation with the Joker. He is an excellent tactician, but the Joker is the most unpredictable DC character, which prevented Midnighter from calculating his actions.

As a result, the Midnighter was brought to a standstill by a villain who was far from the physically strongest in the DC.
