New Character in The Boys Season 4 Gives the Show an Opportunity to Make Fun of DC
Will we get to see a parody of the infamous “Martha” scene?
Fans of the Amazon Prime Video ’s hit show The Boys are eagerly anticipating its upcoming season 4. Now that the WGA strike seems to be almost over, we might finally get a release date soon.
In the meantime, while we're all waiting for the official scoop, fans are buzzing with theories, speculations, and expectations. One fan on Reddit even shared a cool idea about a new character in the upcoming season – Tek-Knight.
For those not in the know, Tek-Knight is set to appear in season 4 of The Boys and will be portrayed by Derek Wilson. The character is somewhat of a parody mix of Batman and Iron Man, combining tech-savviness with a dark and brooding persona.
The Reddit user suggested an interesting idea: a potential face-off between Tek-Knight and Homelander. Fans are speculating whether we’ll see Tek-Knight go toe-to-toe with Homelander in a battle reminiscent of Batman v Superman. Will the show miss out on this opportunity?
The Boys has never shied away from parodying and deconstructing superheroes and the genre tropes. Homelander is an obvious parody of Superman (with a bit of Captain America in there), the Deep is a rip-off of Aquaman, Queen Maeve is a troubled Wonder Woman, etc.
Some fans find the idea amusing, imagining Tek-Knight heroically standing up to Homelander, only to face a brutal defeat. Others are throwing in humorous comments, referencing “iconic” lines from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice like “Why did you say that name?” and “Martha,” poking fun at the infamous scene from the movie.
The idea of Tek-Knight battling Homelander as a parody of Batman v Superman is definitely entertaining. It would be interesting to see how the show plays with this concept, adding its unique twist and dark humor to it.
While waiting for the news regarding season 4, don’t forget that Gen V, The Boys’ spinoff, which is in part a parody of X-Men, is coming out this Friday, September 29. Tek-Knight is going to make a brief appearance in the show, and it’s another reason to check it out.
