Netflix Updates Have Bridgerton Fans Riled Up With Just 2 Words
‘Soon’ is too broad of a description.
Summary:
- Bridgerton is a Netflix period TV series produced in association with Shondaland and Netflix.
- The show survived the COVID-19 and WGA and SAG AFTRA strike restrictions, but now the release date for season 3 is delayed.
- Fans are concerned that the delay of season 3 may mean the problems behind the scenes and demand clarity instead of Netlix "coming soon" statements.
There's no feeling like true, heartfelt anticipation for the next episode or season of your favorite show. No matter how long or short the hiatus, if you love the story, feel connected to the characters, and are invested in their lives, you will patiently stick around for however long it takes to get the season produced.
This is the situation many viewers found themselves in after the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes, as many scripted shows had to be put on hold until the strikes were resolved. Now that they have, all the actors and writers are back on sets and all the networks are working hard to get their updated schedules out.
So everyone who has been patiently waiting for an update will finally get one, right?
Well, that seems not to be the case for the Bridgerton fandom. The first announcement that season 3 would be dedicated to the love story of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featheringron was published in May 2022. And since then, for the past year and a half, all the fandom has had to live with is a vague "soon.
Bridgerton Season 3 Is ‘Coming Soon’
The only thing fans are trying to figure out with one update after another is what exactly the word "soon" means in Netflix's vocabulary. This time it was Netflix France that reassured Brdgerton's fandom that the show still exists and there are even plans for season 4. However, the statement once again failed to provide any clear information.
With a plethora of theories surrounding the reasons for the delay, fans are starting to lose hope of seeing the show before mid-2024.
The show has already struggled through both the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and the WGA and SAG AFTRA restrictions, although there have been reports that season 3 was filmed before those. Another delay for one reason or another would be devastating, but it wouldn't change much.
The only thing left for fans to do is to beg either Netflix or Shondaland to break the silence. While that still hasn't yielded any results, you can try to calm yourself down by re-watching the previous two seasons on Netflix.
