But it’s still a must see.

When a major streaming platform announces a new series’ release, everyone just hides low and just waits until it’s coming out. Because they already know: it’s going to be a huge hit. And month after month Netflix gives us proofs of the thought and turns the viewers into the obsessed fans of whatever they create.

This is the case with Netflix's latest premiere, a limited series called Baby Reindeer. It's a British drama/thriller that has generated a lot of hype, but it's definitely worth your time (if you have a stable mental health). The series revolves around a very serious topic and it can be a difficult watch for many.

The story at the heart of the series happened in reality with the show’s creators and the main star, Richard Gadd. Baby Reindeer is a series based on the time he was being stalked and sexually assaulted by a woman. When it happened, he was only in his 20s.

Gadd already created a one-man stage play of the same name in 2019, and it became a huge hit. So now the actor has decided to bring the devastating story to the small screen. It must have taken a lot of courage for him to do this, but the story behind the series is so powerful that it seems like it had to be done.

Gadd doesn't romanticize the story and doesn't wear the mask of the victim, but he does give a full picture of what stalking really is and the dangerous consequences it can lead to. He also opens up about the kind of person he was at the time and how he was traumatized by the events described in the story.

The viewers all as one claim that the show is a masterpiece and the performances Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning gave were just stunning. Baby Reindeer is already topping Netflix’s Global chart and scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Fans claim that they didn’t want the series to end, but at the same time, it was so depressing down to its core that they wished they had never seen it.

“It's depressing. But the biggest tragedy, without trying to blame the victim at all. However, it is the man who suffered this that put himself vulnerable to excess by his total lack of dignity, and he acknowledges it, however he feels powerless to fight it. Like an addiction. I believe the appeal of this show, despite the moral darkness, comes from many who relate to it in one way or the other,” Redditor residentatzero said.

All eight episodes of Baby Reindeer are available to stream on Netflix.
