Neil Gaiman Doesn't Rule Out The Worst For Good Omens Season 3

While we're still sobbing over Crowley and Aziraphale's heartbreaking twist in Good Omens season 2, the series co-creator Neil Gaiman is already here to make it even worse for us.

According to the author, who exec produced the Amazon adaptation, there is a good chance that the long-awaited season 3 might not happen at all.

"The strikes have upended [the plans for season 3] a little. At best, they may delay it; at worst, it’s possible that we won’t get the viewing figures or something, and it might not happen at all," Gaiman wrote on his blog, explaining that in order for season 3 to happen, the second chapter needs to show the figures Amazon will like.

Earlier, Gaiman said that if it wasn't for the joint WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, he would be writing the third season right now. According to him, the best thing the fans can do in this situation is make sure that Good Omens season 2 gets the viewership it needs to be greenlit for another chapter.

Besides, the Good Omens co-creator called on everyone to support the strikes so that the deal can be reached and the productions can resume. For Gaiman, it's not just about Good Omens only; he also has The Sandman season 2 in development.

The show about Morpheus, the king of dreams, was in production for two weeks before the strikes forced it to halt. Gaiman said he "hopes" The Sandman 2 production will restart, but he noted that he "[doesn't] like the sound of that 'I hope.'"

For Crowley and Aziraphale, securing season 3 is important as hell (we can see Crowley smirking at us). In the season 2 finale, the couple finally shared a kiss — right before everything went down in flames because Aziraphale accepted a new job from Metatron, and Crowley couldn't make peace with it.
