NCIS Suddenly Introduced a New Team-Up Relationship Everyone Wants on the Show
Though the duo of all the fans’ dreams wouldn’t be possible anyway.
The NCIS franchise is definitely having a good year as it keeps expanding its universe with not only two more exciting spinoffs coming this fall, but also with a brand new podcast.
The unexpected project that was launched a couple of weeks ago reunites NCIS actors Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo before they will eventually reprise their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David respectively in the upcoming spinoff titled NCIS: Tony & Ziva.
The podcast primarily aims at dwelling on NCIS’ most memorable moments by setting Weatherly and de Pablo up with the show’s other actors or creative team members, and its most recent guest star just made fans crave for a different turn of events back then even more.
The second episode of the podcast, titled Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch, was released around a week ago and featured Sasha Alexander as Weatherly and de Pablo’s guest, showing all three of them diving deeper into one of NCIS’ most tragic storylines.
On the show, Alexander portrayed Special Agent Caitlin Todd who was killed by a terrorist during a mission she was carrying out alongside Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo. Caitlin’s untimely death was a shocking and truly heartbreaking moment that overshadowed the whole season 2 and several more installments that came afterwards.
Ironically, in the third season Caitlin’s position was taken over by Ziva David, portrayed by one of the podcast’s hosts Cote de Pablo, with the latter eventually making it up to the team’s big loss by tracking down and killing the one responsible for Caitlin’s death.
The podcast’s episode thus features a very desirable, yet still pretty much impossible duo of de Pablo and Alexander who during their one-hour-long talk shared that they’d had this passing the torch moment not only on the show, but in real life as well.
According to the actresses, Alexander made sure to give de Pablo, who at that time was very young, some advice before leaving the series for good. Sadly, de Pablo’s Ziva David had no such opportunity as she’d never met Caitlin Todd before the latter died.
Talking about Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch’s episode, fans of the show stated that they couldn’t help but notice the chemistry that Sasha Alexander and Cote de Pablo had unwillingly demonstrated to the listeners thus giving the latter ones yet another reason to mourn Caitlin Todd, who never got to work alongside Ziva.
Though the characters would in fact make a perfect duo in the series, their collaborative work was never supposed to be even fathomable given that Ziva would never have made her way to NCIS if it hadn’t been for Caitlin’s passing.
