NCIS Season 22 Worst Possible Plot Twist May Actually Work Out Just Fine

NCIS ’ upcoming season 22 is now a bittersweet thing to be waiting for, since it’s set to bring major plot twists that just won’t be able to give the viewers all that they actually want. The show’s latest season ended on two big cliffhangers, with one of them making it clear that Jessica Knight can’t make her biggest dream come true without a significant sacrifice.

The season 21 finale sees the character eagerly accepting a job offer which will now send her to the other side of the country, thus separating her from her current boyfriend Jimmy Palmer.

However, should their breakup indeed take place in the upcoming installment, it surely won’t be the end of the world for either of them, even if for now it seems to be so.

The options of how exactly Jessica and Jimmy can resolve this huge problem are multiple, but none of them works without causing some major losses from both sides.

If Jessica suddenly decides that her relationships with Jimmy are much more important than her career ambitions, she is losing a truly unique opportunity to finally achieve what she’s always been striving for.

Meanwhile, should Jimmy let his girlfriend accept the offer and also leave the MCRT to go to California with Jessica, he risks losing his position as Chief Medical Examiner and is likely to get minor job opportunities at a new workplace.

After all, either Jessica or Jimmy will be forced to make concessions, jeopardizing their current positions and their future career goals.

Instead, NCIS better opt for ruining their relationships which, weirdly enough, seems to be the best option so far. Yes, it’s pretty obvious that fans would be devastated by seeing their favorite couple breaking up, but both characters will at least be able to go their own ways without sacrificing their personal ambitions for their partner’s sake.

Additionally, the show might even come up with a different solution and put Jessica and Jimmy into a long-distance relationship.

Still, even if the series eventually chooses to shatter its fans’ hearts and separate Jessica from Jimmy, it doesn’t appear to be that horrible either since both will be happy doing what they always wanted to do.
