NCIS: Michael Weatherly Pulling Our Strings with Possible Tony and Ziva Reunion
We knew Michael Weatherly had charm, but we didn't know he had the power to bring Tony and Ziva back together.
Michael Weatherly might have made the best New Year gift for all NCIS fans. While wishing his fans a happy New Year on Twitter, the actor teased that he may reprise the role of Tony DiNozzo and reunite with his co-star Cote de Pablo in 2023.
It all started with New Year greetings.
"Happy New Year! It's time to look at time and enjoy the moment!" Michael Weatherly wrote on Twitter.
One of the fans in the comments knew exactly what they would enjoy most of all.
"We all would rather look at you and Ziva reuniting and enjoying that moment," the fan commented.
Weatherly didn't skip a beat and soon replied with an exciting tease.
"Stay tuned… for this might be an interesting year for such "moments"!" the actor tweeted.
Though this tweet wasn't exactly a promise, fans that had been waiting for the Tiva reunion for a long time went crazy in the comments. Many noted that they would be happy to meet Tony and Ziva again and see where they had gone as a couple. Besides, it would be nice to see the beloved characters have a huge wedding, fans think.
"I already like 2023," one of the commenters wrote, and others shared the sentiment.
Tony/Ziva pairing or just Tiva is one of the fans' favorites on the CBS show. Many viewers were devastated when Michael Weatherly exited NCIS in Season 13. But the circumstances of Agent DiNozzo's departure made things a bit more bearable.
After finding out he had a daughter with his ex-partner Ziva David who was considered dead at the time, Tony left the team to take care of the kid. Later, Ziva turned out to be alive, and Cote de Pablo made a surprise return to the show in Season 16. After Season 17, the character left again to reunite with Tony and their daughter in Paris.
After exiting NCIS, Weatherly landed the leading role in the legal drama Bull which ran for six seasons from 2016 to 2022. With the series finale being released in the Spring of last year, Michael Weatherly has the time and energy to reprise his role as Tony DiNozzo. NCIS fans would surely love such a pleasant surprise.
