The actor is back to work, but not with the role his fans would want.

It’s been several weeks since NCIS: Hawai’i was shockingly ditched by CBS, and however hard the show’s fans tried to bring it back, the canceled NCIS spinoff now has zero chances to ever be revived as its actors have already turned to other big projects.

So far, there hasn’t been any new show or movie featuring NCIS: Hawai’i’s stars, though things are set to change when Apple TV+ ’s brand new coming-of age drama series arrives.

The upcoming show titled Me will feature NCIS: Hawai’i’s actor Sharif Atkins in one of the leading roles, thus marking his first big role since the NCIS spinoff cancellation back in April.

What Is Me About?

The Apple TV+ series will follow middle school boy Ben and his struggles with finding friends among peers who appear to be only bullies while also trying to adjust to the new reality of his changed life at home.

As if all those problems common to kids of his age weren’t enough, Ben suddenly finds out that he has superpowers, but actually has no idea how to use them for his profit. The show’s 10 episodes will explore Ben’s long path to self-discovery, helping him realize that having superpowers doesn’t always come as an easy task.

The streaming hasn’t yet provided a lot of details about the rest of the cast’s roles, but it’s been noted that Atkins will portray Darren Kennedy, someone whose relation to Ben is still unclear.

Apart from Atkins, Me will also feature Lucian-River Chauhan, Abigail Pniowsky, Dilshad Vadsaria, Amanda Reid and Jessy Yates.

Me is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on July 12.
