The actor is prolonging his rest from all the police mess.

Mark Harmon may not be returning to the screen as NCIS ’ Leroy Jethro Gibbs anytime soon, yet he is about to make a comeback with another iconic role.

After months of speculations and rumors circulating in the media, Freaky Friday 2, starring the same lead actresses Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, is officially in the works, with Mark Harmon also reprising his role as Ryan Coleman.

No further details about the upcoming sequel’s plot line have been revealed so far, though the previously shared rumor had it that this time a body swap would become a much more serious trouble for grown-up Anna and her teenage daughter that would potentially show up in the movie.

What Is Freaky Friday About?

Based on Mary Rodgers’s 1972 novel of the same name, Freaky Friday follows aspiring teenage musician Anna and her mother Tess whose complicated relationship gets a seemingly unreal challenge when Anna and Tess’ bodies are switched after both try mysterious Chinese fortune cookies.

The original movie starred Mark Harmon as Tess’ fiancé and later on husband Ryan who Anna struggles to accept as her stepfather since she hasn’t yet reconciled with her real father’s death several years earlier.
