Christmas time is a perfect time for rewatching good old family movies like Mrs. Doubtfire, but what if we told you the film was more suitable for Halloween?

Mrs. Doubtfire is one of the comedy films that '80s kids remember with nostalgia and probably rewatch once in a while. Directed by Chris Columbus and starring the brilliant Robin Williams, the movie was released in 1993 and quickly became a box-office success. It is a true classic and beloved family comedy movie. But what if we were to look at the movie from a different point of view?

Mrs. Doubtfire is a story about a recently-divorced voice actor Daniel Hillard who has been denied shared custody of his three kids. To spend more time with his children, Daniel creates a new personality, a British nanny named Mrs. Doubtfire, and convinces his ex-wife to hire him. In the end, the truth comes out, and things work out for the best. The audience realizes that happiness is possible even after a divorce.

This storyline is too familiar to everyone who watched Mrs. Doubtfire as a kid, so it hardly occurs to anyone to question it. But what if we look at the movie from a horror movie perspective? That's exactly what a viral YouTube video featuring a trailer for Mrs. Doubtfire recut as a horror movie did.

The video was watched more than 4 million times.

"I asked my friend if she had ever seen this movie. She said no, so I loosely described the plot to her. She looked at me like I was crazy and said "what is he, insane? That's some creepy ass sh**,"" one of the commenters wrote under the video.

And such a reaction from a person who has never seen Mrs. Doubtfire actually makes sense. Just think, a deranged father disguises himself as an old woman to stalk his family and attempt to kill his ex-wife's new boyfriend. Such a plot could make for literally one of the most terrifying horror thrillers. The homemade trailer clearly shows that there is no need to change anything in the storyline of the good old comedy movie, the right music and a few horror tricks will do the deed.

"Actually... this is... just Mrs. Doubtfire... like... the actual premise and way the movie played out. Scariest part is that he didn't have to take any clips out of context to make this. It's like Mrs. Doubtfire, but with a reality check," one of the comments read.
