Most Hated Shameless Character Would Make A Great Spinoff Lead

Although Shameless showrunner John Wells openly admits that he is not a big fan of spinoffs and is not looking forward to creating a Shameless, fans are still bursting with ideas that could potentially help bring the Gallagher family back to their screens.

While some are better left as fanfiction, others are so well thought out that Wells might have changed his mind once he saw them.

One theory about Gallagher's future that won the hearts of many fans was proposed on Reddit by user Mythiccq:

"I was thinking about Debbie and how bad of a person she is and then I thought about something having to do with her and Franny: I think Debbie is gonna be a neglectful parent just like Monica, and Franny is gonna take care of any other kids Debbie has like Fiona," they said, later explaining their theory in more detail.

As the show progressed, it became increasingly clear that Debbie was the Gallagher child who took after her mother the most.

She shares so many traits with Monica (a prime example of a neglectful parent) that even Frank has to admit the uncanny similarities.

No wonder fans assume that the pattern could easily continue into adulthood, leaving the eldest daughter to deal with real life on her own, just as Fiona did.

The audience seems to agree with this assumption, as it would be a logical and very realistic turn of events for children to repeat the cycles of their parents' lives.

The spin-off show with such a premise would also give Debbie a chance to redeem herself, as now she is seen as a purely evil character, and that wasn't a fair ending for her, many think.

Since there is no official news or rumors about a Shameless spin-off, you can enjoy the original show instead.
