The actor makes fans wonder if he's even human by doing all these crazy stunts.

Over the past few decades, Tom Cruise has risked his life many times to perform the craziest stunts, but the most dangerous of them came on the set of Mission: Impossible.

With each new installment, Cruise ups the ante – as a producer, he comes up with ever more dangerous and risky stunts, and as an actor, enjoys performing them himself.

1. Stopping the knife inches from the eye

In the finale of the second movie of Mission Impossible, Ethan Hunt fights hand-to-hand with the main villain, who does not want to fight honestly and pulls out a knife.

Then the audience sees the disturbing scene where the special agent holds the blade inches from the eye. No CGI and no miracles of editing, the real knife was really as close to the cornea as possible.

2. Opening the parachute at an altitude of only 2,000 feet

Cruise was the first actor to perform the HALO jump – a special long jump from a height of more than 15,000 feet and a parachute opening at an altitude of only 2,000 feet.

The actor trained in a large wind tunnel and made more than a hundred test jumps.

3. Running on the facade of a skyscraper

In 2010, the Burj Khalifa, a 2,717 feet skyscraper, opened in Dubai. Cruise took advantage of the opportunity and successfully climbed the sheer glass walls.

Despite long training, the actor was not prepared for the strong winds at such a height – Tom crashed into the building several times.

4. Holding on to an airplane during takeoff

At the beginning of the fifth movie about the adventures of Ethan Hunt, he clings with his hands to the door of an airplane that takes off and soars into the sky.

The actor was tied up with a cable, special lenses were put over his eyes, and a protective vest was put under his suit. The actor performed the trick 8 times: all for the perfect take.

5. Jumping on a motorcycle in the canyon

One of the most dangerous stunts was jumping off a cliff on a motorcycle. Cruise has been preparing for it for at least a year.

The actor trained in motocross, went through basic training and skydived over 500 times.
