Minor Detail That Won't Let You Look At The GoT's Wall Scenes The Same Way Ever Again
If you think the Starbucks cup was bad, you better stop reading.
Everyone would agree that the early seasons of Game of Thrones were the show's best. They captivated viewers not only with a magical story, but also with amazing acting, powerful dialog, and a world with so much to explore. Although the show has since lost some of its appeal, it is still considered one of HBO's top projects to date.
However, even the best productions sometimes hit a few bumps in the road. The most famous Game of Thrones story to go viral was a cast or crew member's Starbucks mug that accidentally made its way into filming and the final version of the episode.
While the coffee cup accident was funny and the production team was seen as a bit lazy, there are some little details like this that really make fans fume.
One of them is the lack of appropriate winter clothing for the soldiers standing on the Wall. And especially those who go beyond it.
If you don't think too much about these scenes, it might seem like everything is fine, since all the soldiers are covered from head to toe in fur and leather, and they look like they can handle the cold.
However, one important thing is missing: headgear. With temperatures this low, every one of these soldiers should be worried about freezing their face and ears.
What's even more annoying is that in the original books by George R.R. Martin, this detail was not overlooked. Everyone was equipped with helmets that would help them avoid any health problems related to snow or wind.
It's only logical to assume that these changes were made because of the need to show the actors' faces on camera. However, with all the distinctive costumes and many battle scenes with helmets on, where you can still tell who is who, this argument can easily be overpowered.
If you want to re-watch Game of Thrones and see how silly the shots of winter clothing without head coverings look, you can stream the show on MAX, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video.
