Will we find out more in season 3?

There's no shortage of interesting fan theories and analogies that fans find in Bridgerton. Whether it's between the books and the show, or between a few characters in either version, there's always something to explore, and some of them even end up being true on screen.

Now that the fandom is impatiently awaiting the release date of season 3, promotions, or any news about it at all, it is more active than ever. One of the activities that definitely helps make the time go by faster is re-watching all the previous episodes and the prequel, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which was released earlier in 2023.

Though some people were bitter at the time that the show had taken a well-deserved spotlight away from the Bridgertons' season 3 lead couple, Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, in reality, it only gave fans of the universe more things to theorize about. And Penelope's character is actually a central figure in some of the hidden parallels.

As we learn from the prequel, Lady Danbury's marriage was far from happy. If anything, it was tragic, because she was raised to be a wife from the age of three, and she was trapped in a very abusive relationship until her husband died. One of the many things he had a need to control was her appearance, so he made her wear gold dresses because it was his favorite color.

Once she was able to get out of the relationship, she was able to find her own favorites and was mostly seen wearing cooler tones, like blues and purples.

The same exact transformation is expected to happen to young Penelope Featherington, who has been controlled and verbally abused by her mother for most of her life and is now able to break free. Like Lady Danbury, she was forced to wear bright yellow dresses, but as she matures and becomes more out of control, she will prefer cooler tones.

What the significance of this parallel is is hard to say until Bridgerton season 3 is released, but the fandom tends to believe that we will see more interactions and bonding between Lady Danbury and Penelope in the future.

If you don't want to miss out, keep an eye out for Bridgerton season 3 release date news and behind-the-scenes updates. The show is rumored to return this December, but Netflix has yet to confirm or deny this information.
