Mayor of Kingstown: Who Is Terry & What Actually Happened to Him?

Mayor of Kingstown tells the difficult story of the McLusky family: the mother works as a teacher in a women's prison, the youngest son works for the police, and the two older ones are involved in "private activities." These activities are connected to the prisons, where they try to solve problems within the law and also give advice to the families and relatives of prisoners.

One of the older brothers, Mike, is an ex-convict who happens to be the unofficial mayor of Kingstown. From dawn to dusk, Mike must solve deadly, dangerous tasks: finding a drug dealer who killed a child, unraveling intrigues that ended in bloodshed, and preventing a prison riot that is unfolding before the viewers' eyes.

In Kingstown, the police are more concerned with settling scores than punishing members of local gangs, so the people with the most influence often end up behind bars.

What Happened to Terry?

The aforementioned prison riot spawned one of the show's most intense storylines, the one involving Terry. And no, you didn't miss anything – although this character plays an important role in the plot, we have never seen him on screen, so let's find out who he is.

Terry was one of the prison guards associated with the Aryan Brotherhood who was killed in the riot. Though we never learned the details of his death due to the chaos at the facility, we do know that Allison, Terry's widow, blames Mike for his death.

While Mike did not directly organize the riot, his influence over almost every aspect of the town and his manipulations essentially made it inevitable. It demonstrates one of the show's central topics – responsibility for one's actions – and leaves us wondering if Mike should really be held accountable for something he did not directly organize.

Terry & Allison Storyline Further Reveals Mike's Personality

The storyline with Terry and Allison later evolves into another equally intense plot – Mike learns that an assassin has been hired to kill him. Allison, who is connected to the Aryan Brotherhood through her husband, becomes Mike's pawn.

With Allison's help, Mike uncovers the details of the plot, which ends with him shooting the assassin. This storyline once again shows us Mike's rather unprincipled nature – he is willing to manipulate other people's tragedies to achieve his goal.
