How hard can it be to fall in love with your friend and not be able to tell her?

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel aired its final episode just a few days ago, and it still keeps fans guessing about the show's hidden clues.

The series' finale was actually quite satisfying, as it answered almost all of the show's questions and wrapped up the storylines that needed to be wrapped up.

But there were still some scenes that made fans wonder what really happened to the characters in the future. Or... in the past.

One particular scene made fans think that almost everything they thought they knew about Midge and Susie's relationship was a lie.

When Susie opened up about her relationship with Hedy Ford and actually came out as gay, Midge was obviously shocked.

But frankly, fans didn't really find that detail jaw-dropping because they had that feeling all along.

"The look Susie gave Midge in that scene was heart shattering, so tender and sweet. Can't help but wonder how many looks like that were shared over the years as Midge went through husbands and relationships.

This, along with the Hedy scenes, were truly great as they aren't [tackily] screamed at the viewer, but instead implied," Redditor randomp3rsononth3n3t said.

But there were definitely fans who never wanted that friendship to be anything more than that.

"Honestly having Susie be IN love with Midge is so boring. I hate the notion that everything Susie did for Midge was because she had some crush.

There IS such a thing as platonic love between women, and Susie being a confirmed lesbian shouldn't change that," Redditor madame3xecutioner said.

In fact, the majority of fans believe that the relationship between Midge and Susie is so much deeper than a lesbian crush or a love affair that failed.

Their love was great, but it was genuinely platonic, and that's the story we choose to believe (or have to believe, since The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 5 was the last one for the series).
