Marvel's Secret Wars Turning into Cameofest, and Fans Are Losing It
If there was any time when Disney would shell out for actors, it would be the designated multiverse finale, Avengers: Secret Wars. MCU fans are looking for all generations of Marvel verses coming together for one final battle. So who do fans expect to see in Secret Wars?
It seems fairly obvious that Marvel won't miss the opportunity to please its fans and use the big Multiverse Saga finale to bring back iconic beloved actors. After a famous Twitter scooper, MTTSH, revealed that Disney is planning to bring back Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man in Secret Wars, fans came up with a load of new names they would like to see in the movie.
The majority dream about seeing three particular characters in one scene: the above-mentioned Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. "My heart wouldn't be able to handle my whole childhood melting onto one scene. I would literally have a heart attack in the theater if that happens," one Reddit fan commented.
Fans explored other fun possibilities, too. Many would like to see Chris Evans return to his role of Captain America, or Human Torch, or both at the same time. Some fans are waiting to see all Spider-Men meet again. X-Men fans are waiting for the appearance of mutants other than Wolverine. Many anticipate the return of Fassbender's Magneto. Black Widow fans expect to see Scarlet Johansson again.
RDJ Rumored to Return As Iron Man in the MCU' s Secret Wars
Lots of original comic books fans wouldn't mind seeing other versions of beloved characters. For example, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. could play villainous versions of their characters, Captain Hydra and Superior Iron Man. That would definitely shift the dynamics of the movie.
Although the cast for Avengers: Secret Wars – scheduled for release on May 1, 2026 – hasn't been officially approved yet, the appearance of all mentioned characters is highly possible as the epic Multiverse Saga finale is based on a 12-issue comics series where multiple Marvel universes merge into a new Battleworld. As we've already seen in other Disney projects, multiverse means tons of heartwarming cameos. At this point, Secret Wars is looking to turn into the biggest Cameofest of all time. And fans seem to dig into it!
