Marvel Fans Are Not Okay With Tom Holland Spider-Man's Next Villain
To be fair, the villain is okay — it's the identity of the web-slinger himself fans have issues with.
Amid unconfirmed viral reports that Tom Holland 's Spider-Man is going to face Tom Hardy 's Venom at some point on big screens, fans are already starting to riot.
There are several issues people have with the prospect of Tom Holland's lovable version of Peter Parker facing off Hardy's symbiote. First of all, MCU fans believe that Holland's Spidey is currently in the stage of his life when the last thing he needs is a big-scale villain.
After having everyone's memories of him wiped out by Dr Strange's spell, Peter could use some rest and street-level fighting, fans argue.

But that's not the main point. While not being directly against Hardy's Venom making an entrance into MCU, fans say that Holland's Spider-Man is simply not the one to face him off.
"Seriously, Andrew [Garfield] is more fit for that particular area of Spider-Man and Tom has his MCU and potential and they choose to go with that stupid decision? Instead of exploring with both?" Twitter user Spidey_1963 argued.
After Spider-Man: No Way Home brought in Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, it's only natural for fans to legitimately compare the web-slingers to each other. When it comes to Venom's potential rival, fans believe that Garfield's Peter Parker is better suited for the role than Holland's.

Fans have started to beg Marvel for a Garfield-Hardy stand-off ever since Andrew's Spider-Man officially appeared in the MCU. No Way Home also introduced Hardy's symbiote into the MCU, albeit in a briefly post-credit scene appearance.
However, some Marvel fans are generally against Hardy's Venom making a mess in MCU, arguing that there are other villains for Holland's Spider-Man aside from the symbiote.
Currently, little is known about the future of Spider-Man in MCU, with Tom Holland reportedly signing up for several more Marvel movies. Neither the studio nor the actor have officially confirmed it. Spider-Man 4 is also in limbo as of now, with speculations claiming that Holland's Peter Parker might return to screens as soon as in 2024.
