Hardly anyone will deny that the main cast of Friends was great enough to bathe in well-deserved fan love for over ten years.

But episodic roles were no less important than the main ones.

The producers of the show made sure that every season (if not every episode) has its own high-level Hollywood star. And one of them could have been Tom Hanks!

The actor was approved for the episode named The One With the Male Nanny and could actually be that nanny (or should we say "manny" as Chandler would?).

So it was the time when Rachel and Ross were in desperate need of a person that would take care of their baby so they both could go to work.

But the search was a disaster… until Sandy came around. Amazingly charming, caring and great with kids, he immediately made us fall in love with him.

That being said, the only person left outside was Ross, who couldn't bear the idea of a male nanny.

Now we can't imagine anyone but Freddy Prinze Jr. playing that role. But being cast for it was a surprise even for him!

"I got a call, and they said, 'Hey, Friends wants to offer you one of their celebrity guest cast roles, would you want to do it?' And I was like, 'Yeah, man, that would be really fun," Prinze Jr revealed on the Lights, Camera, Barstool podcast.

However, there was one issue: Prinze Jr needed to be on set just the next day after the call. But still, he couldn't believe his luck at the time and agreed to be in the series.

"Yeah, I'll take Tom Hanks' sloppy seconds! Hell yeah!" Prinze Jr said.

It all wouldn't have happened, if Tom Hanks was a little bit more careful with his traveling schedule. Well, turns out Hanks' bad luck at an airport gave us the true manny we deserve.
