House of the Dragon’s brand new season keeps fans unimpressed, but still promises big returns in the next installment.

House of the Dragon season 2 just kicked it off with its first episode a couple of days ago, but fans surely expected much more than that.

Apart from that horrendous ending that still keeps many outraged regarding the show’s revolting misinterpretation of the whole sequence and its characters, the brand new installment seemingly turned one of its most anticipated moments into yet another disappointment, though there’s still a chance for this character’s return in the next season.

Weeks before the second season’s first episode finally dropped, House of the Dragon had been tempting fans with its numerous teasers and trailers, many of which made it clear that House Stark will finally enter the battle scene forced to take someone’s side.

Episode 1 indeed started with taking viewers to Northern lands and showing Rhaenyra’s son Jacaerys trying to get support from Cregan Stark, the head of House Stark and Lord of Winterfell back then.

Now that Cregan Stark has been featured in the brand new season’s premiere episode for just several minutes, the chances of ever seeing him again in one of the upcoming episodes are slim to none, as the character is believed to return only in House of the Dragon’s third season announced a few days ago.

Fans were quick to get united once again by their anger towards the show’s way of deluding viewers, stating that the creators made “all the hype just for 5 minutes.”

Others also expressed their genuine disappointment, revealing that they’d expected Jacaerys to spend much more time in Winterfell letting the series dwell on the way things were in the Northern house 200 years before Ned Stark became its head.

Despite that, some others got to see a different side to the mostly disheartening news. According to them, Cregan’s temporary disappearance from the whole feud this season may come as another confirmation that he’ll be back by the time a major naval conflict between the Blacks and the Greens, called the Battle of the Gullet, will take place, most likely in House of the Dragon’s third installment.
