Horror fans get ready! Maybe we will see the second part of Sam Raimi's cult horror movie as Drag Me to Hell 2 might be in works.

Currently, the director is busy with the fantastic thriller 65 starring Adam Driver. While answering fan questions in a Reddit AMA, the director revealed exclusive and surprising information about his previous project, Drag Me to Hell (2009).

One of the fans asked if it was possible to continue the beloved horror, to which Sam replied that the Ghost House Pictures team is trying to develop the concept of a possible sequel.

"The team at Ghost House Pictures: Romel Adam and Jose Canas, are trying to come up with a story that would work, and I'm anxious to hear if they do!" Sam Raimi answered.

The original movie, starring Alison Lohman and Justin Long, told the story of a woman who was trying to break a gypsy curse that was put on the heroine for the simple purpose of torturing her with all kinds of horrors and then dragging her off to hell.

Long's character survived to the end, so the second part can afford it narratively. The sequel could be called Get Me Out of Hell and show the protagonist trying to get his girlfriend out of what is, to say the least, a predicament.

The movie received a high score on Rotten Tomatoes – 92% – and was appreciated not only by fans, but also by critics. And the movie's box office returns were some times higher than expectations.

Considering that Sam Raimi is one of the biggest favorites of horror fans, it is understandable why a short comment was the cause of such a wave of enthusiasm.

Just several years ago, Raimi wasn't so sure about the sequel, though.

A couple of years ago, he said in an interview for Bloody Disgusting that the only reason he did not make a sequel to Drag Me to Hell was that he simply could not figure out how to continue the story.

"I don't have a story, because in my mind the character got killed, and worse. So I didn't know how to proceed with the sequel. […] But this is such a definitive ending that in my mind I didn't know where to start with a sequel," the director said.

Well, it looks like Sam Raimi is finally ready to find a decent story to continue his creation, and fans are looking forward to seeing it on the big screen and getting some shivers.
