Has Nevel Papperman from iCarly ever made your blood boil? Let's see a show of hands.

If you did not raise your hand, you probably did not grow up in the 2000s and you have no business reading this. Just kidding, please stay.

Nickelodeon's iCarly ran for six seasons and was once the network's only real hope of beating its rival – Disney.

The show was so successful that it even spawned a revival series 10 years later (and it has already been picked up for season 3!).

Nevel Papperman is Carly's main antagonist and nemesis. He is a web critic (before they became mainstream) who has his own website, and he is obsessively and stalkerishly in love with Carly.

Reed Alexander has certainly done a great job portraying such an annoying (but kid-appropriate) villain.

The actor has reprised his role in the 2021's series – Nevel makes a comeback in the season 1 episode iRobot Wedding. Alexander even shared his interview about the revival for People on his Instagram account.

What is Reed Alexander up to now in real life?

Believe it or not, he has followed in his character's footsteps and has become a journalist.

After graduating from New York University in 2020 with a degree in media studies and broadcast journalism, the 28-year-old former iCarly star has now secured a position as a financial news reporter for Insider.

If he tells us now that we'll rue the day, we have every reason to believe him!

The funny thing is that Alexander first received recognition for his food blog back in 2009, which basically made him an active promoter of a healthy lifestyle. Even back then, he was more like Nevel than we realized.

In 2022, Reed also started teaching Journalism Studies at the University of Miami, where he was hired as an adjunct professor. Isn't that an impressive career move for a 28-year-old? Nevel would be proud.

When you think about it, Reed Alexander is a lot like Nevel Papperman. He has taken the best of his character – determination, love for journalism, and drive – and left the worst behind. Best outcome ever!
