Supernatural Revival Is All Planned

Despite the disastrous The Winchesters experience, it seems like Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are very much not giving up on their iconic TV show. Recently, the Sam actor sat down with CBR and revealed their plans for the Supernatural revival. Apparently, the two stars have been set on returning even before the show ended!

“The simple answer is 100%. I will play Sam Winchester again. Jensen will play Dean Winchester again. <...> In hindsight, Jensen and I have always said ‘always,’ if we ever have the option. <...> [Jensen] and I are both champing at the bit to see what these boys have been up to and what else good they can do in this world or the next. I'm excited about it,” Padalecki shared.

This is great, but there’s no exact date, so nothing is set in stone, right? Wrong!

When Will Supernatural Return?

While there is no exact timetable for the epic revival of Supernatural, Ackles and Padalecki know exactly when they want to get to work. Don’t worry, we won’t get a show about elderly Winchester brothers in 2060; the actors want to start their new project next year already!

“It's more of a timing and availability thing. <...> When we realized somebody might want more, we said, ‘2025. In 2020, we're ending this. Let's get together in five years and see what Sam and Dean are up to.’ <...> I'm going to see him in a few weeks to talk to him about it again. We've talked about it a few times,” the Sam star added.

Jared Padalecki made another thing crystal clear: there won’t be a Supernatural revival unless the story is great. According to the actor, both he and Jensen Ackles are still incredibly protective of their iconic characters — so when they finally reprise their roles, they will make sure they will come back with a banger.

Which was a nice elaboration from him considering how The Winchesters went.
