Fans think Lea manipulated Shaun's patient satisfaction scores out of self-interest, not love.

Lea Dilalllo played by Paige Spara is probably the most controversial The Good Doctor character. Some fans adore her and her relationship with Shaun, others hate her. And then there are those who love her after one episode and hate her after another.

This might come from the portrayal of Lea as a human being who can be insecure, frightened, changing her mind, and not knowing what to do at times. However, even realistic character doesn't excuse Lea from being too selfish and overbearing instead of supporting Shaun during some crucial moments, according to some fans.

After watching one particularly disturbing scene, Redditor u/ZzzVvvKkk brought up the issue in r/GoodDoctor Subreddit:

"Lea is acting selfishly and unethically. When she deleted score from the scoring system, she didn't help Shaun, she alleviated her discomfort from Shaun's pain but deprived him of a chance to get better."

The moment came in the season 5 episode Crazytown. In the season, new antagonistic San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital boss Salen Morrison introduced a rating system that was supposed to show how good patient care was.

Since the reviews were subjective and mainly reflected the way doctors connected with patients, Shaun's scores were the lowest on the team, which frustrated him. In an attempt to help her soon-to-be husband, Lea hacked the system and raised his score behind his back.

Besides being a stupid move that naturally led to harsh consequences, it was an act of pure selfishness, according to fans. It felt that supporting Shaun and taking the time to help him was harder for Lea than just committing this unethical action.

Lea has definitely evolved throughout the series. From the girl next door who was "selfish, needy, and a total mess" and said lots of painful things to Shaun, she grew into a caring wife.

But her selfish tendencies that didn't go anywhere worry Shaun's fans. Putting Shaun's job at risk, not inviting his mother to the wedding, and overall being pushy and selfish are all red flags that make many fans think Lea and Shaun are terrible together.

Lea once asked Shaun, "is every mistake I make going to be something that you hold against me forever?"

Looks like it is exactly what some The Good Doctor fans are going to do.
