Latest NCIS Reunion Has Fans Raving Over One Character's Return in Upcoming Spinoff
Another Special Agent might become a helping hand in the lead characters’ adventures in Europe.
NCIS ’ brand new spinoff titled NCIS: Tony & Ziva is still months away from finally arriving to the screens, yet the show already has a myriad of fan theories suggesting who else from the original series will eventually show up in a completely different installment.
Initially following the reunion of NCIS agents Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David in Europe and all the missions they’ll embark on together, the spinoff has high hopes from fans who expect it to not let the characters’ past just sink into oblivion.
No other actors have so far been confirmed to appear in NCIS: Tony & Ziva, though the franchise’s recently introduced podcast just got NCIS lovers even more excited about all the surprises the show may have in store.
The NCIS podcast Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch, hosted by NCIS: Tony & Ziva’s actors Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, has recently been launched as a completely new format for the long-standing franchise, reuniting Weatherly and de Pablo with their former co-stars or the original series’ crew members to dwell on some specific episodes and events.
Having already had a bittersweet meeting with Caitlin Todd’s actress Sasha Alexander, the podcast hosts went on to something more optimistic by getting to talk with Sean Murray, who is still NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee.
During the podcast, Cote de Pablo was the one to note that the last time all three of them were together in the same room was a decade ago, back when Tony and Ziva were still part of the team. Murray had the sweetest response, revealing that “I know when I see you guys that I feel really good.”
Tim McGee’s reunion with his former colleagues not only brought the show’s fans some nostalgia for NCIS’ better times, but also a common wish for McGee to eventually make his way to the upcoming spinoff that will dive deeper into Tony and Ziva’s life after they both quit NCIS.
Such an option actually makes a lot of sense since the couple was good friends with McGee, with all three of them even believed to be Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ best team players.
Apart from that, considering that neither Tony nor Ziva will leave their careers behind, McGee could come as the couple’s helping hand in one of the cases they are going to work on in Europe.
