The Big Bang Theory consisted of a unique and quirky cast, it was a funny and relatable show that never seemed to have a dull moment.

The series quickly gained a massive fan base with its perfect blend of comedy, pop culture references, friendship, and of course, science. Things were going exceptionally well for The Big Bang Theory, the cast had rocketed to fame and the series had been nominated for numerous awards.

So fans were shocked and more so confused when it was suddenly announced that the show's 12th season would be its last.

For Jim Parsons, who played the eccentric Sheldon Cooper, it felt like time to move on. Executives had decided that the series would not be able to continue without Parsons, which meant it was over for everyone else involved.

It was a devastating blow not just for dedicated fans, but for the cast and crew who had been with the show from the start.

One of the most heavily affected was Kunal Nayyar who played the socially awkward, shy Raj Koothrappali. Although Kunal Nayyar has gone on to continue with other successful projects in his acting career, he still has not fully come to terms with the fact that there will never be another episode of The Big Bang Theory.

"Ending the Big Bang was like breaking up with the love of your life when you know nothing is wrong but it's just time," he says.

In recent interviews, Nayyar opened up about just how painful the ending was. While filming his last scene, he only got one take and then it was over.

He had said his last line on the show and left in tears. Nayyar has no ill feelings towards Parsons for his decision, or any of his castmates, but has a hard time talking to them because of all the emotions that come to the surface.

Even years later, there is an atmosphere of unspoken sadness that hangs over the group when they meet up to catch up and reminisce over all the good times they spent together.

Considering the circumstances and suddenness of losing what had become his second family and a huge part of his life, it is easy to empathize with Nayyar.

He has appeared on many talk shows opening about his time on the show, and fans have remarked how kind-hearted and genuine he is as a person, very similar to his character on The Big Bang whom they loved so much.

Like many of his fellow cast members, Nayyar will continue his career in the entertainment industry, but admittedly still hurts at times over what everyone can agree was a good thing that regrettably ended far too soon.
