Killing Eve’s Star May Appear in Cillian Murphy’s Next Movie, And Fans Can’t Even
The recasting may not be a very good idea in this case.
Summary:
- Cillian Murphy ’s breakout film 28 Days Later is getting yet another sequel and, apart from the excitement, there’s also some concern among the fans.
- While Murphy himself is only confirmed as an executive producer of the film, the news regarding Jodie Comer being cast for the movie has fans wondering whether she will replace another beloved character.
- Despite the recent casting news, it’s still not confirmed officially and the whole storyline, as well as the rest of the cast, remains a mystery.
Cillian Murphy’s breakout role in the post-apocalyptic horror 28 Days Later skyrocketed his career more than 20 years ago allowing him to be officially introduced to Hollywood and its further acknowledgements. The film itself also got its fame moment that resulted in the 2007 sequel and now in the upcoming third film — 28 Years Later.
And while Murphy is already confirmed to be working on the film as an executive producer (many have their fingers crossed that he’ll also reprise his famous role), some other news regarding the casting doesn’t inspire confidence among fans.
Quite the contrary, many are concerned about the fact that Jodie Comer may potentially join the film and this option doesn’t seem right to them.
The point here is that 28 Days Later also starred Naomi Harris alongside Cillian Murphy and the actress’s role had a crucial impact on the main character’s survival during a harsh epidemic. Now that the only casting news (though not confirmed officially) mentions Jodie Comer, fans have been wondering whether she would replace Harris in the upcoming film.
Since there’s almost nothing to say about either the plot or the cast, it seems like there’s a lot of unnecessary fuss around 28 Years Later that has started ahead of its time. While there’s no news whether Cillian Murphy will eventually come back to his role or not, the film’s plot and characters are also shrouded in secrecy.
On top of that, given that the 28 Days Later sequel, 28 Weeks Later, starring Jeremy Renner, followed different events and different characters, it’s fair to surmise that the third film will also bring the viewers to a radically distinct story that will just revolve around the repercussions of the events that the epidemic from the first film brought.
At this point it comes as something quite logical if 28 Years Later will demonstrate something new and will thus bring on stage new characters with one of them being portrayed by Jodie Comer. Apparently, after the previous sequel’s idea Cillian Murphy’s appearance in his role yet again would be weird — but still very much wanted though.
